Yuletide Dances

Originally written in 1972, this music was extensively revised in 2002, and now takes the form of a fantasia of traditional Advent and Christmas tunes. Included in part or whole are the Advent hymn tunes Picardy ("Let all Mortal Flesh Keep Silence") and Nun Komm, der Heiden Heiland ("Savior of the Nations, Come"), the carols Hark, the Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the World, and the seasonal songs Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells. Near the end of the piece is a snippet of Jolly Old St. Nicholas.
