This clever sea chantey gives young students experience with pizzicato andtremolo. A firm beat supports the melodic themes. All parts stay infirst position. Musical images include a ship tossed by high winds,crashing waves and busy sailors. A short violin solo at the endrepresents the plaintive lament of one very homesick sailor. A sure-fire winner for young string orchestras!
