The Great Divide

The title of this majestic work is twofold in meaning:  it refers to the soaring peaks of Colorado's Continental Divide, as well as the division of the beat.  The piece begins in slow 6/8 with an undivided beat, then later moves to a fast 6/8 with the beat divided in three parts.  With the use of the included rhythm study guide, this work is a great way to teach young players 6/8 time, as well as a gripping and colorful overture style concert work.
