The Gypsy Baron Overture

This is Viennese Opera music at its best; its popularity has endured since its premiere in 1884, primarily due to an abundance of great tunes and beautiful solos. In this authentic transcription, flute, oboe, clarinet, alto saxophone, and cornet all make notable solo contributions-especially the oboe. There are at least ten separate tunes, each exhibiting a singular character, making this overture great fun for players, conductor and audience!
