Jonathan P Jaworski
Educator and composer Jonathan P. Jaworski (b. 1980) began exploring band composition as a high school student. His debut work was performed by his high school band while he was a junior trombonist in the ensemble. Mr. Jaworski is the Director of Bands for Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools in Ashland, Nebraska, a position he has held since 2005. Under his direction, the Ashland-Greenwood program has prospered. In addition to numerous superior festival and contest ratings in both marching and concert settings, both the Middle School Concert Band and Senior High Concert Band have given multiple showcase performances at the Nebraska State Capitol Building to celebrate Music in Our Schools Month. The Senior High Concert Band gave guest performances for the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association Conference in both 2015 and 2019, and the Middle School Concert Band was a featured ensemble during the 2017 Nebraska Sesquicentennial Celebration. Mr. Jaworski’s works have been performed by ensembles ranging in age from middle school to collegiate, and are published by Alfred Music and Grand Mesa Music. His professional affiliations include the Nebraska Music Education Association, Nebraska State Bandmasters Association, and the National Education Association. He lives in Elkhorn, Nebraska, with his wife, two children, and dog, Coda.
