Concert Band
In Nomine
Composed by
Orlando Gibbons
Transcribed By
This remarkable Renaissance transcription begins with a chant-like solo for oboe, clarinet, trumpet or euphonium that leads into a fascinating contrapuntal tapestry. English organist and composer Gibbons originally wrote this music for five viols, and Singleton's band transcription has transformed it into a n extremely original musical statement. The piece gradually increases in intensity, culminating in a glorious ending.
