String Orchestra
The Shoreline
Composed By
Composed during the winter of 2004, The Shoreline is an impressionist view of the New Jersey central coast, near the composer's home. The season is winter, and the sky is gray. The waves are calm. In the air is the threat of snow. The music carries sadness in it, but it resolves in a hopeful sound. This wonderfully expressive and inherently musical work for younger string players can be an enriching experience for any orchestra.
