Whimsical Dance

This is a lively dance for young string orchestra that employs various placements of accents and some asymmetric meter (7/8) to create a fascinating rhythmic scenario. After a legato contrasting middle section, the piece drives to an exciting conclusion. A hint of eastern European modality adds further personality to a unique piece in the young orchestra literature.
